Tessa vs Senja: collecting a story or building a testimonial library
If you already have good customer quotes and want to put them to use, start by looking at Senja. If customers are willing to help but you need to ask questions to understand their story, Tessa is worth trying.
There is overlap: both can help you collect testimonials. The useful question is where your work gets stuck.
We build Tessa. This comparison is based on our product and Senja's public documentation, checked October 22, 2026. It is not a hands-on benchmark of both products.
What Senja covers
Senja collects text and video testimonials, imports reviews from other platforms, and organizes them in a library. It can turn those testimonials into website widgets, walls of love, images, videos and case studies. See its product overview and import guide.
That is useful when a marketing team has praise spread across review sites and social posts. Bringing those items together and choosing where to display them may solve the problem without adding an interview step.
What Tessa covers
Tessa conducts a voice or text interview using the questions and background you provide. It can ask follow-ups based on an answer, organize the feedback around your questions, and draft a testimonial from the conversation.
Product screenshot: Tessa's actual testimonial component, rendered locally with fictional content. This illustrates the output format; it is not customer evidence.
For example, imagine a customer has offered to help but only written "great support." An interview can ask what they needed help with and what happened. It still depends on the customer having something specific to say. Tessa cannot create a customer result that did not happen.
Tessa does not collect video testimonials. Its public testimonial page also serves a narrower display need than Senja's range of marketing formats.
Which problem are you solving?
| Your immediate task | Start here |
|---|---|
| Collect video or bring existing reviews into one library | Senja |
| Add testimonial widgets and social assets to your marketing | Senja |
| Interview a customer about a particular experience | Tessa |
| Gather product feedback and draft a testimonial in the same conversation | Tessa |
These are starting points, not a scorecard. A short, well-written collection form may be all a willing customer needs. An interview earns the extra time only if the follow-ups give you useful detail.
Check the permission workflow
In Tessa, the participant disclosure explains that created testimonials are approved for public use by default. Participants can review and unapprove them and choose attribution. Your team controls what appears on the public testimonial page.
If you plan to move a quote between tools, check that the customer's permission covers the intended use. This comparison does not establish a native integration between Tessa and Senja.
Try the same fictional customer request in each product. Compare the effort to respond, the wording you receive and the steps needed to publish it. You can start with the Tessa homepage demo.
