Tessa vs Testimonial.to: when a collection page is enough
A customer has agreed to recommend your product. If they know what they want to say, sending them a collection page is a sensible next step. Testimonial.to is built for that request and for displaying the result.
Tessa is useful when there is still a story to work out: what the customer was doing before, what changed and which details would help another buyer.
We build Tessa. We checked Testimonial.to's official documentation on October 22, 2026. This is a comparison of documented workflows, not a hands-on performance test.
Start with what the customer needs to do
Testimonial.to's getting-started guide describes collecting text and video testimonials in a Space and embedding them through a Wall of Love. Its documentation also covers guided questions, imports, consent collection and video editing.
It is too simplistic to describe that as an empty text box. You can give people prompts. If a customer is comfortable writing a short recommendation or recording a video, that workflow may be enough.
Tessa asks questions in a voice or text conversation. A follow-up can explore a detail the customer mentions rather than requiring you to anticipate it in advance.
What the extra conversation is for
Suppose a customer says, "It made our weekly review easier." A useful next question might be, "What were you doing before the review that you no longer have to do?" This is a fictional example, not a result from a customer interview.
The point is to find a concrete account, not to make the recommendation sound bigger. If the answer is still general, you may not have a quote worth publishing yet.

Compare the work after collection
| What you need | Testimonial.to | Tessa |
|---|---|---|
| Text and video collection | A core workflow | Voice or text interviews; no video collection |
| An interview that follows up on answers | Check the current collection flows against your needs | A core workflow |
| Existing testimonial imports and a Wall of Love | Documented features | Not the focus of this workflow |
| Product feedback alongside a drafted testimonial | Check how your questions and exports fit | Findings organized around the interview questions |
Tessa can show testimonials on a branded public page. If your main task is placing video and quotes throughout an existing website, evaluate Testimonial.to's display options before adding another tool.
Make sure the publication steps fit
Tessa's disclosure says created testimonials are approved for public use by default; participants can review and unapprove them. Your team separately controls which testimonials appear publicly. Do not assume that means every participant has clicked a final approval button.
For either tool, inspect the collection wording and the exact public result before sending the request to customers.
Try the Tessa demo if you want to see whether a conversation would help. If your customer is already ready to write two useful sentences, keep the request that simple.
